Demand for smarter cars drives up KESM profits
KUALA LUMPUR: Strong global demand for smart electric cars is helping to boost growth at KESM Industries Bhd .
Earnings in the second quarter ended Jan 31 climbed 12% to RM11.18mil compared with RM9.98mil made a year earlier. Revenue improved 10% to RM91.47mil, the company said in a statement today.
KESM is one of the largest independent burn-in and test service provider in the semiconductor industry.
“We enjoyed strong growth in volumes for our burn-in and test. Our customers continue to offer more advanced devices with more functions to car manufacturers racing to produce driverless cars,” its executive chairman & chief executive officer Sam Lim said.
