PETALING JAYA: Economists expect Malaysia’s trade surplus to be higher this year at about RM105bil to RM106bil from an estimated RM99bil to RM100bil last year despite some moderation in exports.

Economists contacted by StarBiz said they expected export momentum to hold up albeit with slight moderation but with a wider trade surplus for the year.

A trade surplus is an economic measure of a positive balance of trade where a country’s exports exceed imports.
